I’m Robyifan *(Chinese name Yifan一凡) . A UI Designer, Software Frontend Developer, Product Manager, Product Owner and MBA, originally from Costa Rica and now based in Singapore 新加坡. I’m here to talk about how can I help you.
Who Am I?
To tell you a little bit more about myself I’m a Product Owner digital nomad. I’ve been traveling and working 100% remotely for startups and mid-sized companies in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, China and Australia for about eight years. Including a year that I lived in China, studying Mandarin. My native language is Spanish and I love gaming.
What do I do?
As a Designer, my day-to-day includes using tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Experience Design, to build websites, web apps and mobile apps. Additionally, I create interactive prototypes with tools like InVision, InVision Studio and Marvel and then testing those prototypes with stakeholders.
As a Frontend Developer I build web apps using ReactJS and VueJS. I connect them with REST APIs. Also, I develop libraries that I usually design first, turn them into reusable components for the team and of course I use GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, Storybook, all the good stuff.
As an MBA and Product Manager and Product Owner I lead my own Marketing Agency in Costa Rica. I manage a team of ten including designers, developers, content strategists, content creators, video editors and account managers. We use Notion, Airtable and Hubspot a lot. I create specs for the team and assign tasks accordingly to the project requirements.
What I’ve done?
I’ve done a lot of software-as-a-service usually as a Lead UI Designer or a Lead Frontend Developer. An example of my work can be found in Alphavoice.io They use SEO for video, they have software that by using Alexa skills it takes the audio from a video and does a transcript so that it can turn it into text and then can be found by search engines. Currently, they’re working on lead generation and targeted email campaigns. The public site of the platform is built in ReactJs and the dashboard backend is built in VueJs. Me and another designer designed everything from scratch using Sketch and InVision.
Now, how do I work? What’s my process? I need to understand three basic things about your product. What it does, how does it do it and how do I get it. After those three questions are answered, I can start mocking and designing and implementing some code.
What are some advantages of working with me? As a PM, Product Owner, I am the customer’s hero. I always think about the problem and always think about their pain points. As a Designer and Developer and Business Owner, I’m always thinking about the solution and how to make it profitable. You will see that I will always be on top of both: the problem and the solution.
